The challenge with the LNS group this week is a color one - Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple, and Old Olive.
Because I needed a masculine birthday card, I made a men's shirt card.
Using an embossing folder (?name) the front of the shirt was embossed.
The tie was made by using a 1 by 3 1/2" piece of Comfort Cafe DSP (Summer starfruit and very vanilla), cutting a point at the bottom, and gradually tapering the tie from the top of the point to the top of the tie. I drew a line so as to make my cut more accurate. For the knot, I cut a piece of the same DSP 3/4 by 1 1/2" and folding it over the top of the tie. It was attached using a dimensional in the front, and an adhesive in the back. A clear circle rhinestone was placed in the lower part of the tie, and a small strip of Raspberry rick rack was added to the tie knot.
The tie was then attached to the front of the card using dimensionals.
Tiny silver brads were inserted into the lower edge of each collar
The pocket was formed by cutting a 1 by 1" piece of the same DSP as the tie, and trimming the lower corner edges. A small piece of Raspberry Ripple card stock was folded and placed in the pocket, and a piece of Raspberry Ripple rick rack was also attached just below the top of the collar.
The sentiment, from Petite Pairs, was stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock using Black Stazon. It was punched using a small oval punch (retired) then layered first with a piece of DSP punched with a 3/4 by 15/16 oval punch, and then with a 1 3/4 by 7/8" oval punched in Raspberry ripple.
Here's a list of the supplies/material used:
Stamp: Petite Pair
Ink: Black Stazon
Papers: Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple, Comfort Cafe DSP
Accessories: Embossing folder, 1/ 16 silver brads, circle clear rhinestone brad, Tasteful trim die, 1 3/4 by 7/8" oval punch, 3/4 by 15/16" oval punch, small oval punch (retired), dimensionals.
Hope you enjoyed the card. Thanks for stopping by.
