A Special Thank You - SUO Challenges #134

Making a Thank you card couldn't have happened at a better time for me.  This week "Thank you" cards is the topic of   SUO challenges
Two weeks ago I had a health crisis and as a result have been advised not to drive for a while until my Family Doctor could check me out.  Unfortunately he is not available until Nov. 9.  Can you imagine being without a car for a day let alone 6 weeks?
I really need to make 2 Thank you cards, mayber 3 or 4 because I have received so much help and support, getting around the city, doing grocery shopping, getting to appoinments, even helping to set up my last craft show of the weekend.

Here's one of the cards I made:

  • I usually start with the card base and the layering, but today decided to do the flowers first.
  • Two flowers from the stamp set "Remarkabley You" were stamped with Versa Mark on  Vellum cardstock and embossed with Whisper White embossing powder.
  • Then with an Aquapainter and ink pads, the flowers were painted with the following colours:  Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive.
  • The flowers were then cut out and adhered to a 3 1/4" circle die cut using the Circles Framelits using glue dots.
  • Markers in the above colours were used to create small dots all around the images.
  • The base card is Pink Pirouette, layered with Melon Mambo, and then Whisper White embossed with the Decorative dots embossing folder.
  • At the bottom of the Whisper White layer a 1 1/2" strip of Melon Mambo DSP was attached.  At the top of this strip I placed a piece of 1/4" Melon Mambo ribbon.
  • The Vellum image circle was now adhered to the front of the card using glue dots in places where they wouldn't show through the vellum.  The bottom of the circle slightly overlaps the ribbon.
  • A bow made of the same ribbon was attached with the two stems of the flowers meet using a glue dot.
  • The sentiment "Thank You" is from "Sassy Salutations" ,stamped on Vellum, and also embossed with white embossing powder.  One end of this was notched.
