Woven Easter Basket - SUO Challenges #143

For this week's challenge with SUO I made a woven Easter basket using a tutorial from Splitcoaststampers
The basket is made from the retired Baskets and Blooms die, and does require a bit of fussy measurements, and weaving, but the end result is worth it.

  • Basket is woven using Flowering Fields DSP.  The strips are sponged with Soft Suede ink prior to weaving.
  • A 1/2" strip of Hello Honey cardstock is used for the handle.  It is attached to the basket using large silver brads. A piece of Hello Honey ribbon was wrapped around the handle and made into a bow.
  • The "Happy Easter Bunny", a retired stamp, is rather a large stamp.  But I stamped the entire image, coloured only the bunny using a blender pen, and then cut the image out.  Then 2 ovals were die cut using the ovals framelits - one in Whisper White, and the second larger one in Calypso Coral.  Both were sponged with Soft Suede before the cut out bunny was attached.
  • After adhereing it to the front of the basket, the curved "Happy Easter" was cut out, the edges sponged, and adhered over the bunny.
  • The tag was made using the banners framelits with the sentiment from "For Peep's Sake"- another retired stamp set. Hello Honey was stamped across the sentiment and eggs using the Work of Art stamp set.  A 1/8" hole was punched in the top, and it was attached to the handle using White Baker's twine.
  • Put some Easter grass inside the basket, some styrofoam eggs (or a treat which I prefer) and whola you are ready for Easter.  It would made a great hostess gift
